Skuodas is a region in Lithuania with the most pronounced signs of the Ice Age. There is no shortage of large stones and strange natural phenomena here. Be careful, because there will be swamps, boulders and twists and turns along the route!
It is not a short journey for us to reach Skuodas - Justas is from Vilnius, I am from Kaunas. We find ourselves here at noon, so we decide to cover the 73 km route in two days. We have a tent, sleeping bags, mats and an optimal mood with us. At the tourist information center (which works long hours) we ask about places to visit, the quality of the route, food (we are told that there are not many cafes, but they are excellent) and on to the route!
I called the route a paradise of icy roads, because many of the roads we rode (except for a short 150-meter section through the forest) were of excellent quality, the bike rolled along them perfectly, my heart sang - my initial skepticism towards Skuodas evaporated - an undiscovered corner of great nature and public roads.
I recommend downloading the navigation GPX file to your phone or a special navigator before riding, so that it is easier to navigate. Good luck on the road!
